The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) is a territorial program used to nominate immigrant aspirants who are interested in coming to Yukon to establish themselves economically. This program, in cooperation with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), helps to designate qualified applicants for permanent residence.
The YNP is one of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), with three streams for workers, and an additional one for Business Entrepreneurs.
Choosing Yukon Immigration
Yukon, a federal territory located at the extreme Northwest of Canada, has a population of approximately 30,000 residents, making it the smallest territory or province in terms of population. The territory’s economy heavily relies on mining and tourism. The capital city, Whitehorse, aggregates most of the territory’s residents.
Apart from some federal programs, the territory has its own immigration streams. Only one of the YNP streams is Express Entry aligned. Indeed, with a successful application, a provincial nomination will grant the applicant 600 additional CRS points. This will right after lead the applicant to automatically obtain an invitation to apply (ITA) in the following Express Entry draw.
The rest of the streams are non-aligned Express Entry streams, there is no need to be in the pool. There are streams for Skilled Workers and International Graduates with job offers in the province, and for business entrepreneurs investing their money in the territory.
